Mr. Chia-Wei (Billy) – Director, Solicitor

Mr Chia-Wei (Billy) Wu is one of the founders of AGC Lawyers and provides specialised advice in the areas of Immigration, Property, Commercial and Corporation Law.
Billy holds a Juris Doctor and a Masters of Law from Bond University. He has remained an active Alumni of Bond University and takes an active interest in the development of future law graduates. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws after completing his studies in Taiwan.
Billy has extensive experience assisting his clients in complex immigration, property and commercial matters. Due to his commercial mindset, he is adept at ascertaining his client’s needs and providing proven legal strategies to meet his client’s goals. As a result of this, he has a diverse range of clients ranging from investors, business owners, foreign corporations, and associations.
Billy was the President of the Taiwanese Friendship Association from 2015 to 2017 and continues to be heavily involved in the Asian Business Community. He has regularly been invited to present on a range of topics to the business community. Billy is also an active member of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce.
Finally, Billy was one of the key parties in establishing A&C International Legal in Taiwan, being the only Australian law firm in Taiwan.

Peter.Kelly – Barrister
Peter was admitted to the Bar in 1984 and holds a Masters degree in Prosecution and Criminal Law.
His background includes trial counsel with the State and Commonwealth DPP’s, Counsel with the ‘Fitzgerald Inquiry’, Special Prosecutor’s Office, and Criminal Justice Commission.
Between 2005 and 2008 Peter was appointed Special Adviser to the AusAid Program in Papua New Guinea designed to bring capacity to that country’s Law and Justice Sector. Peter was Senior State Prosecutor and appeared as counsel in many high profile trials and Constitutional hearings in that country. He has also served with the European Union program in Pakistan training specialist Investigative and Prosecution units connected with the Pakistan Police and Prosecutors Office.
Peter now practices on the Gold Coast, Australia in Criminal Law majoring in defence cases including appellate, trial and tribunal hearings. Peter’s practice also includes Proceeds of Crime, Environmental Enforcement law and Sports tribunal hearings.

Alexander Choy – Barrister
Alex was called to the Bar in 2018 and practices in commercial litigation.
He holds a Masters degree in Commercial Law from the University of Oxford and received the University Medals in Law and International Business as the top graduate in his undergraduate degrees. He is currently completing a Masters of Taxation at the University of Sydney.
Prior to joining the Bar, Alex worked as a solicitor at a leading international law firm where he worked on complex contractual disputes and class actions. He also served as a Judge’s associate in the Federal Court of Australia, gaining experience in bankruptcy, corporations, trade practices and migration matters.
Alex appears in all Australian courts and tribunals and keeps chambers in Brisbane.

Huiming Lin – Solicitor, Legal Practitioner in P.R. China.

Mr. Huiming Lin is the Co-partner of AGC Lawyers, he has a broad range of legal experience in Property law, Commercial law, Family Law as well as Dispute Resolution.
Mr Huiming Lin holds legal professional qualifications both in China and Australia. While studying a Bachelor of Laws at Zhejiang University China and subsequently a Master of Laws at the University of Aberdeen UK, Mr Huiming Lin also built extensive knowledge and experience in studying a Juris Doctor at the University of Bond Australia.
Mr. Huiming Lin is passionate about assisting clients at every stage of their matters. He works with a range of clients in a variety of industries to identify their needs, protect their businesses and ensure they comply with legislation. He services as a legal counsel for dozens of companies/associations in Australia.
Mr. Huiming Lin has acted for investors, developers, contractors, and suppliers in a number of residential and commercial property development projects. He also has extensive experience dealing with regulatory bodies including the Fair Work Ombudsman and dealing with disputes in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
Mr. Huiming Lin is the recipient of the “APAC Australia Outstanding Young Lawyers Award (30 years old or younger) in 2018”. He has written more than 500,000 words of original Chinese and Australian legal articles and co-published the “Australia’s First Home Buyer Red Book” and “Australian Chinese Community Development Report 2018”.
Tony Chee – Solicitor

Mr Tony Chee is a Senior Associate of AGC Lawyers and has a particular focus in Property, Commercial Law and Company Law.
Tony obtained both his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business degrees from the Queensland University of Technology. Tony has also obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Queensland in order to broaden his technical knowledge. Tony was admitted as a lawyer in 2010 and has been practicing as a lawyer since that time.
Tony has developed a deep knowledge and experience from his years as a lawyer and the range of complex matters that he has provided advice on. He has acted on behalf of franchisees, companies, investors, incorporated associations across multiple different matters. He has extensive experience drafting and reviewing complex commercial agreements, business sales, commercial transactions, management rights and property sales.
Tony is client service focused and prides himself on ensuring open communication with his clients. He understands that client’s put their trust in him and rely upon his communication and speed of service to best fulfil their needs. Tony is able to speak in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Joseph Cheung – Solicitor

Joseph is an Associate at AGC Lawyers based in Brisbane who has a particular focus in Employment Law, Family Law, Dispute Resolution, Mediation and Administrative Law. Joseph completed his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (Honours) degrees at the Queensland University of Technology before he was admitted as a lawyer in Queensland in 2015. He has over 13 years of experience working in both the Queensland Government and Federal Government with extensive knowledge of policies, organisational culture and practice in the public sector.
Joseph is an experienced Accredited Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner who is skilled in facilitating workplace and family mediation. He is keen to help his clients resolve disputes in the most cost-effective and efficient manner. In addition to his legal roles, Joseph is also a popular bilingual marriage celebrant and wedding reception MC in Southeast Queensland, and an experienced NAATI certified translator with more than 12 years of experience.

Haolin (Neil) Yang – Solicitor

Mr. Haolin (Neil) Yang is a Junior Solicitor of AGC Lawyers, and despite being a junior solicitor, he has a broad knowledge in Criminal Defence, Traffic Infringements, Civil Litigation and Family Law.
Neil obtained his Juris Doctor from the Australian National University in July 2019 and has obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the Hunan Normal University in Changsha. He was admitted to the New South Wales Supreme Court before obtaining his certificate in Queensland.
Neil is passionate about assisting clients to overcome their difficulties. He has previously worked for the Canberra Community Law Centre and a Criminal Defence Law firm in Sydney before joining our Brisbane office in February 2020. He has experience in dealing with a wide variety of legal matters ranging from Speeding Fines, Break and Enter Offences, to the more complicated Civil Disputes, Family Law matters and commercial transactions.

Gabrielle Jiang is a Solicitor at AGC Lawyers and holds legal professional qualifications both in China and Australia.
Gabrielle obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB.) degree from the Queensland University of Technology. She has also obtained a Master of Laws (LLM.) from the University of Queensland in order to broaden her technical knowledge in Commercial Law and Dispute Resolution. Gabrielle was admitted as a lawyer in 2018 and has been working in the legal industry since then.
Gabrielle has been successful in a wide range of cases in Australia when she worked for the King & Wood Mallesons, Law in Order and the The Incorporated Council of Law Reporting for the State of Queensland (ICLRQ).
Gabrielle prides herself on her willingness and compassion to built a solid relationship with her clients and aims to find the most appropriate solution for clients’ best interests. She is able to speak both English and Mandarin Chinese to the native level fluency.
